From 9–13 February 2026, ESMOD Jakarta had the pleasure of welcoming a special visit from our headquarters in Paris. As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining international education standards, we were honored to host Paul Marchand, Head of Curriculum Coordination for Fashion Design and Fashion Business at ESMOD International Network. This visit ensures that both our teaching materials and student works remain closely aligned with the curriculum developed in Paris — the foundation of ESMOD’s global academic framework. Throughout the week, Paul reviewed student projects across all levels, from first-semester explorations to final collections. The review covered the Fashion Design program, Creative Business program, and the Fashion Design & Pattern Making program, ensuring that our academic standards, creative direction, and technical execution are aligned with ESMOD Paris.

We also presented some of the collaborations ESMOD Jakarta has carried out with industry partners, including Levi’s and Goodrich. These partnerships reflect how our students are continuously exposed to real industry contexts — bridging academic learning with professional practice. Beyond the student review, one of the most energizing moments of the week was a dedicated masterclass session for our teachers. The workshop focused on updated approaches in innovative pattern development techniques.

Teachers explored the technical structure behind the design and were encouraged to experiment with different finishing treatments for the final shirts. The objective was clear: to continuously push creative thinking and encourage the development of more innovative pattern-making and sewing techniques — so that, in turn, our students can think beyond standard construction methods and confidently develop their own creative approaches. The workshop concluded with a photoshoot featuring the garments created during the session, modeled by the teachers themselves — a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and craftsmanship.

Paul’s visit also provided a valuable opportunity to review our current exchange pathways and further strengthen the development of international mobility programs for our students. His presence encouraged renewed reflection on how we can expand these initiatives and create even more meaningful opportunities for cross-cultural learning.

We believe visits like this are more than just quality control. They are moments of alignment, reflection, and inspiration. As the first fashion school in Indonesia to implement a French curriculum, maintaining the integrity and quality of ESMOD’s standards remains our priority. This week reminded us why that connection matters.
