Esmod Jakarta @ Lomba Perancang Mode 2009 (Jakarta Fashion Week 2009)

Congratulations to:

1st Winner

Vinora Ng

Esmod Student 2009-2010, 3rd level Specialization Women's Wear

For her collection Vinora was inspired by the fabric she found in North Sulawesi, which led to her theme “nudibranch” – an animal from the sea found in the Bunaken National Park in North Celebes which is famous for its corals and animal life. Her collection comprised of 6 outfits – two suits  (pant and shirt ) and four dresses.

She did not expect to be the winner of the Lomba Perancang Mode 2009 at the Jakarta Fashion Week  sponsored by the  Femina Group and held on November 19, 2009 at Fashion Tent, Pacific Place, Jakarta,  and was absolutely thrilled.  She worked very hard  during her holidays and would like to thank her teachers for their help specially - Erika Winoto and Sherly, her parents and blessings from God above.  She received a prize of USD3000, two way ticket to LA and 3 months scholarship at the Fashion Design & Merchandising Institute in Los Angeles. Her ambitions include “Opening her Own Line”, exposing Indonesian traditional design and creating a unique motif which will be internationally known, and creating a modern look for the traditional “kebaya”

On behalf of the teachers, students and staff of Esmod  – hearty congratulations to Vinora and all the very best!!!

3rd & Favourite Winner

Bethania Agusta T.

Esmod Alumni 2009,Specialization Women's Wear

In her collection, Bethania has drawn her inspiration from herself – meaning – her adolescent years and what she felt, the mood swing, attitude changes, emotional outbursts, an overall rebellious spirit. “These feelings also represent the soul of punk” said Bethania,

and hence she chose the punk ambience for her collection.

Bethania now works with Lenny Agustin and handles her second line – Lennor. She said she started from scratch at Esmod and owes a lot to her school for the knowledge she has. She mentioned Josephine who taught her to have a strong concept and know what she wanted. She also thanked her brilliant teachers – Sapta, Sherly and Fariz who contributed to her knowledge in pattern drafting.

Congratulations to you Bethania from all of us at Esmod and good luck for the future. Keep in touch with Esmod!!
